Capturing our client's dreams while making a positive artistic contribution to the built environment, we are concurrently aware that our structures must also work - in both ergonomic and thermodynamic terms.  These performance goals reflect our mission to fully understand each site and predict future environmental impacts on our buildings.  Winter and summer sunlight, prevailing wind direction and existing vegetation are examples of site criteria reviewed carefully before initiating each new project.

Connecting interior spaces to the site, views and natural light is vital to our work.  We employ extensive yet appropriate glazing to help blur the distinction between in and out and to provide effective cross ventilation.  Even at the smallest sites, opportunities exist to capture natural light, a garden view and a breath of fresh air.  Our designs work with the seasons, providing passive heating and cooling when required.  

Encouraging the use of leading-edge sustainable building materials and Green building practices are company trademarks.  We believe building Green is mandatory and enthusiastically encourage our clients to embrace the benefits of living well with minimum ecological impact.  With both LEED and Living Building Challenge experience, our studio is at the vanguard of deep green design.

Applying our firm's extensive Green Design and construction knowledge, we take the time to work through site and structural solutions early through an integrated design process.  The best building plans are those that not only illustrate our client's dreams but those that clearly convey to the builder the "how" and "why" of each step along the way.  Precise and demanding in our work, we strive to provide our clients a premium design experience.
