We pursue structures which perform well throughout the seasons.  While making a positive artistic contribution to the built environment, our structures must work - both ergonomically and in response to the local climate.  This performance goal reflects our mission to fully understand each site and predict future environmental impacts on our buildings.  Winter and summer sunlight, wind direction and drainage patterns are examples of site criteria reviewed carefully before initiating each new project.

Connecting indoor space to the site, views and natural light is vital to our work.  We employ extensive yet appropriate glazing to help blur the distinction between in and out and to provide extensive cross ventilation.  Even at the smallest sites, opportunities exist to capture natural light and a garden view.

Specifications that encourage appropriate, leading-edge sustainable building materials are company trademarks.  We believe building green is mandatory and enthusiastically encourage our clients to embrace the benefits of living well with minimum ecological impact.
